Australia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Korea (ANZCCK)
1. History
The Australia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Korea (ANZCCK) www.anzcck.org was formed in 2001, the result of a merger between the Australian Business Group in Korea (ABGIK) and the New Zealand Business Group (NZBG). The Chamber boasts more than 250 members from the resources, manufacturing and service sectors.
The formation of the ANZCCK began a new chapter in Australia and New Zealand's business relationship with Korea. Over the past 30 to 40 years both countries have developed increasingly strong trading and business interests in Korea.
In recent years, the nature of trade with Korea has broadened considerably beyond traditional commodities, such as coal, iron ore, and aluminium, as well as forestry and agriculture products, to include knowledge-based industries including sophisticated manufactures, internet content and multimedia. A broad range of service providers in banking, insurance, accounting, management consultancy, construction, education and tourism also feature prominently in the trade relationship with Korea.
