Holiday/Visiting Family
If you are not eligible for an Electronic Travel Authority and you wish to holiday or visit family in Australia, you must lodge a Visitor visa application at the Australian Embassy Seoul or on-line for certain nationals.

Instructions for applying for Visitor Visas
If you intend to apply for a Visitor Visa, you are kindly requested to assist the processing of your application by providing the documents listed below with your application.
In the absence of particular documents a decision on your application will be made based on the documents held at time of decision.
The documents you need:
- Valid passport (must have at least one blank page for visa labels)
- Form 48R, Application to visit Australia for tourism or other recreational activities
- If you are using an agent or authorised recipient, Form 956, Appointment of a migration agent or exempt agent or other authorised recipient
- Visa application charge
- Evidence of means of support for your proposed stay in Australia, eg. original bank account statements issued within a week prior to lodgement, savings books, and a letter of invitation from your relative/friend in Australia (if applicable)
- Evidence of employment / study leave. Self-employed applicants: evidence of active business and a registration certificate.
- Photocopy of the front and back of your Korean Alien Registration card (if applicable)
- Minors under 18 travelling on their own or with one parent only: original /certified copy of their birth certificate(Family Relation Certificate and Identification Certificate for Korean applicants) and the non-travelling parent's consent to their child's stay in Australia. The parent's signature must be certified by a public notary. Alternatively, parents lodging applications in person may bring their passport or Korean ID and a photocopy of this document for certification by counter staff. If the application is lodged by mail or through an agent, a photocopy of the passport or Korean ID plus the address and contact phone number of the parents should be provided.
Medical Documents:
- If your intended stay period is over 3 months, you are required to undertake a chest x-ray from a panel hospital.
- Applicants 70 years and over also require a 'fit to travel' declaration, which must be completed from a panel hospital. Evidence of undertaking this declaration must be provided with your visa application, together with evidence of your travel insurance arrangements.

Note:
All documents must be certified copies of originals (ie certified by a notary public/Justice of the Peace). Any document provided in support of your application may be checked. If you are found to have supplied false/fraudulent supporting documents/declarations, your application may be refused. If for any reason you cannot supply any of the requested documents listed, please provide a detailed letter of explanation. If required, you may be requested to provide additional documents or attend an interview.
Processing Time:
Please apply as early as possible before your proposed travel date, as processing may take up to 2 to 4 weeks depending on you intended period of stay. Applicants are advised not to purchase airline tickets before their visa application is finalised.
