AUSTRALIAN EMBASSY E-2 VISA INFORMATION
We understand that the government of the Republic of Korea is changing its immigration policies effective 15 December 2007, to require that criminal records checks and a health certificate be submitted with all E-2 visa applications or extensions. Below are the relevant information for Australian Citizens concerning criminal records checks and apostille procedures.
Criminal Records Checks:
The Australian Federal Police in Canberra (http://www.afp.gov.au) can issue a National Police Clearance Certificate that covers criminal records in all states and territories, except Queensland. The AFP has advised that this certificate is acceptable in all countries.
Apostille Procedures:
Countries that are party to the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents require an Apostille on documents which qualify as Australian public documents.
