Visitor Visa (subclass 600)

The Visitor visa (subclass 600) lets you visit Australia for tourism or business visitor activities.

Tourism includes holidays, recreation and seeing family or friends.

Business visitor activities may include attending a conference, negotiation or an exploratory business visit.

You cannot work for or provide services to a business or organisation in Australia or sell goods or services to the public. If you are intending to do short-term and non-ongoing work in Australia you should apply for the new Temporary work (short stay activity) visa (subclass 400).
See: Temporary Work (Short Stay Activity) Visa (subclass 400)

The Visitor visa (subclass 600) has four streams:

You must choose the correct stream that is consistent with the purpose of your proposed visit to Australia when you apply for this visa. If you apply for a wrong stream it is highly likely that your application will be refused and you will need to make a new application and pay a new visa application charge.

The other two streams are Sponsored Family stream and Approved Destination Status (ADS) stream. However, please note that these streams are only applicable for clients in very specific circumstances and are not lodged/processed at the Visa Sections in Seoul and Tokyo. For further information, please refer to the department’s website.
